As Christians, our belief in God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit inspires each of us to be involved in Christian mission and service. Love of God is linked with love of neighbor and a passion for justice. At Hermitage UMC, we are involved in several local projects under the leadership of the Love & Justice committee. You are invited to explore these projects and get involved as you feel called or even help get a new one started. We endeavor to work together as a church and with others to re-image our world as God intends for us.
Our newest ministry that has been added to the Love and Justice Committee is Tulip Grove Elementary School. In 2013, HUMC “adopted” the school. This ministry is geared toward assisting elementary aged students with acquiring appropriate school attire as well as coordinating volunteers to help tutor in various subjects. The school needs donations of new or gently used school attire clothing. School attire consists of black, khaki or blue pants, shorts, skirts, skorts and any solid color polo shirts. The deadline for getting these clothing items to the school is July 25th. Please bring any clothing items to the church office. If you would like to volunteer to help Tulip Grove Elementary, in any way, please e-mail Margie Siress at email@example.com.
