Debby Payne
Receptionist

Debby began working at HUMC in 2003 as the part-time receptionist.  She works on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Her primary job responsibility is to answer the phones and greet our visitors, but she is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Debby has been a Stephen Minister for approximately six years.  She still takes the time to read to a former care receiver who remains a dear friend.  Debby also serves on the HUMC Congregational Care Committee.

She has two children, Lynlea and Evan.  Evan has recently enrolled at the Art Institute in Culinary Science, and is studying to become a pastry chef.  Lynlea works at DCI Laboratories.  Lynlea, having been born with Down Syndrome, has enabled Debby to become very involved with the Special Olympic State Games because she has competed every year since she was 12 years old.  Lynlea has competed in Gymnastics, Bowling, Track and Field, Ice Skating, and her current sport, Bocce Ball.  Along the years, Debby has coached both Ice Skating and Bocce Ball.

Debby is an avid reader, and can always recommend a current “good read” or lend out a book that she has recently enjoyed; however, her most beloved hobby is spending time with Evan and Lynlea. A native to Nashville, Debby graduated from Cohn High School.  She and her former classmates continue to stay in touch with each other, and get together three to four times a year.
